For Anna, the Newman Club helped turn an unfamiliar place into a place where she belonged.** When Anna moved countries to start college, she faced a new chapter filled with uncertainty — language, culture, and people. Starting college is already a major transition. Doing it in a new country can make finding a sense of belonging feel even more difficult. Anna was nervous about finding a community where she truly belonged. Then she found her university’s Newman Club. Through the club, she made friends who inspire her in her faith every day. They pray together. They support one another through challenges. They remind each other that they are called to become saints together. Having people beside you who encourage you to live out your faith can help make that journey one you don't have to walk alone. Even after leaving one country and entering a completely new environment, she discovered that her Catholic faith connected her to a community where she could feel at home. > “It’s shown me that no matter where life takes me, the Church will always be home.” Anna's story is a reminder that a Catholic community can cross borders, cultures, and languages. A student shouldn't have to wonder if there will be a place for their faith when they arrive on a new campus. They shouldn't have to navigate college without people who will pray with them, support them, and encourage them to become the person God is calling them to be.
